Sailing on an RIB

The buzz of sailing at 90 km/h at sea is something very few people have experienced. Now speed freaks can realise their dream at the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show as they board a large RIB for a trip on the North Sea. Fasten your safety belts, look into the distance, feel the wind in your hair and enjoy! Register at the boat show itself. The RIB carries a maximum of seven people per trip and costs € 15 p.p. or € 10 p.p. when registering in advance.

Dutch Match Racing Championships

There will be demonstrations in various classes of the increasingly popular match racing where two boats sail against each other on a short course. The HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show will also host the Dutch Match Racing Championships in Laser SB3 boats.

Match Racing will be available to show visitors as well. The IMX40 can carry seven people on each trip, making the activity highly suitable for corporate outings with business relations. The cost is € 60 p.p. or € 50 p.p.. For more information or bookings, you can contact: pers@hiswa.nl. The boat show offers special packages that include a ticket to the show and parking, lunch on the CuliBoot or a reception at the floating champagne bar. Manoeuvring clinics

The basics of how to manoeuvre on the water will be taught for free at the Amsterdam in-water Boat Show by instructors from De Zeezeilers van Marken (The Sea Sailors of Marken). In short clinics onboard sail yachts, participants will learn to individually perform certain actions with the motor. Weather permitting, the yachts will leave port six times a day carrying four ‘students’. Interested parties can register at the Zeezeilers van Marken stand. These clinics have proven very popular in previous years so early registration is advised.

CuliBoot: Delightful and delicious
A special initiative at the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show 2010 is the CuliBoot, with catering by the Food on Tour company from top chefs Jonnie and Thérèse Boer. As in their restaurants, Food on Tour is all about refined tastes and superior hospitality
. Visitors can enjoy a unique taste sensation with fabulously designed food onboard the stylish M.S. Zuiderzee with gorgeous views over the brand-new yachts in the marina. Tour on the Ecolution by Wubbo Ockels

Perhaps the most remarkable of all the global premieres at the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show is the Ecolution, a brand new live-aboard sailyacht by Wubbo Ockels which will be presented to the public for the very first time. Holland’s first astronaut has developed a sustainable and self-supporting sailyacht of 25.60 metres that can function completely autonomously thanks to a variety of innovative technologies. In three to five days sailing, the yacht generates sufficient power to live comfortably onboard for a month. The onboard tour will include a look at the very latest technology, automation and design trends.

Sailing Theatre

This theatre on the quay is a meeting place for fellow sailors. After seeing the new yachts at the boat show, visitors can enjoy the Ocean Sailing Experience, with exciting images of ocean sailyacht racing. Show visitors who register for the sailing package with Hans Bouscholte will be able to attend a short lecture discussing all the ins and outs of sailing on the PleoMax, Open 60 or IMX boats prior to their activity. Experience how famous sailors race the oceanic waters by means of exciting and spectacular images.
