Over 40 premiers at 32nd HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show


The HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show 2015 will feature the largest collection of Dutch yachts and a wide range of international brands. Over 40 premiers, including a strong Dutch representation, have also been announced. Together with nearly 300 brand-new vessels between three and 20 metres in length, the event will be offering a comprehensive range. Combined with the exciting programme of activities, the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show promises a wonderful day of sports on the waters of the Amsterdam IJ. The show will take place from 1 to 6 September in the Amsterdam Marina, just behind the Dutch capital’s central train station, and is easily reached by car and public transport.

Steel strength

The Netherlands is a major player in steel, and Dutch builders of steel yachts are known the world over for their superior craftsmanship and quality. Many of these yards will be presenting premiers at the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show 2015: Linssen Yachts with the Classic Sturdy 42 Sedan Deckbridge and Grand Sturdy 45.9 Sedan Wheelhouse, Van den Hoven Jachtbouw with the Executive 1500, Aquanaut with the Andante 438 AC, Super Lauwersmeer with the Discovery 45 OC, De Boarnstream with the Boarncruiser 1200 Elegance and Boarncruiser 1300 Elegance, Vedette Jachtbouw with the Vedette 10.30, and Jetten Yachting with the Jetten 50MPC-FLY. No Limit Ships, Rheben Yachting, Jachtwerf Volharding-Staveren and Steeler Yachts will also be exhibiting.

More premiers

Design, materials, technology, finish and maintenance; people interested in the latest developments in yachtbuilding will not want to miss the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show 2015. The event will feature over 40 premiers, most of which are motoryachts. Some of the announced global premiers are the Interboat Intender 700, the Seafury Tender, the Bavaria Sport 330, the Storm X-65 Wheelhouse, the Vintage 780 Tender from Hellas Watersport, the Super Lauwersmeer Discovery 45 OC, the Sossego Comfort 22, the Cooper800 and the Rapida 990 and Rapida 777. In addition, the leading in-water boat show will present various Dutch and European premiers.

The following sailyacht premiers have been announced so far: the Hanse 31 by West Yachting, the Atlantic 40, the C-Yacht 1250i, the Delphia 34, the Sirena Marine Azuree 33C, the Cooper650 and the catamaran from X-Yachts Holland, the Dragonfly 25. In addition, Nova Yachting BV is presenting its Hallberg Rassy 43MkIII and KM Yachtbuilders the Koopmans 37

Comprehensive offer

Those looking for the latest information will find the show has options to meet all individual requirements. The HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show 2015 will present the largest collection of Dutch yachts as well as a wide range of international brands. The offer includes daysailers, saloon boats, luxury sailyachts, motoryachts, catamarans, launces, tenders, weekenders, speedboats and RIBs: a wide and diverse range of small and large vessels in aluminium, steel or polyester. In addition to custom-built yachts, an increasing number of yachtbuilders offer series builds with a variety of custom options.


In the motoryacht segment, the average length of the registered yachts so far is 11.40 metres. Ranging from small to large, the list includes the 3.80-metre Highfield Rib by De Stille Boot as the smallest boat, while the 20-metre Storm X-65 Wheelhouse is the largest. The registered sailyachts have an average length of 10.50 metres, ranging from the 6.50 metre Cooper 650 (the smallest) to the Hanse 505 from West Yachting of over 15 metres (the largest). Of the currently registered yachts for the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show 2015, 62% are motoryachts, while 32% are sailyachts.

Extensive activity programme

In addition to the hundreds of vessels moored at the Amsterdam Marina from 1 to 6 September, the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show 2015 programme also features a wealth of watersports activities for visitors of all ages. This includes demonstrations, sea trials, manoeuvring clinics on sail or motoryachts, waterbiking and participating in the Safe Sailing practice day.

Aqua Jumping & more

More adventurous visitors will also find plenty to do at the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show 2015. A new programme element is aquajumping, with demonstrations by professionals and the chance for visitors to jump on the blob cushion themselves. Other activities include hoverboarding, flyboarding and jetpacking – the latest watersport trend in the Netherlands. There are also plenty of things to do on the quay, such as Weather on the Water workshops, stories and adventures shared by owners of unique vessels, and the opportunity to see the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM) waterscooter.

Activities for young visitors

The comprehensive programme for young visitors features free sailing in Optimists in the Delta Lloyds Optimist On Tour, SUPing, canoeing, rowing, and, during the weekend, laser sailing for young and old alike. All activities are supervised by expert instructors. Activities on the quay include the Telekids disco as part of Optimist On Tour.

Nautical market & Food Village

The quay of the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show will accommodate a large nautical market with a comfortable outdoor café on the water. The market will feature over 75 exhibitors with a wide range of products and services for watersport enthusiasts; from engines, transport means and boat parts to books, clothing, accessories and magazines as well as dealerships, insurance companies, schools and nautical suppliers. At the heart of the nautical market is the Food Village run by restaurant Duin & Kruidberg. At the outdoor café, with its great views over the Amsterdam Marina, various chefs will serve delicious bites and drinks from their mobile kitchen.

Central location

A visit to the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show can be easily combined with a short city trip or a longer stay in Amsterdam. The free ferry across the IJ brings visitors from the Amsterdam Marina to Central Station in just twelve minutes, opening up endless options for shopping, sightseeing, bike rides, good food and hotels in central Amsterdam, or visiting one of Amsterdam’s many museums, such as the Van Gogh Museum, the Anne Frank House or the world-renowned Rijksmuseum with works by famous Dutch artists including Rembrandt and Vermeer. Easy to reach

The HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show 2015 takes place in the Amsterdam Marina at the NDSM wharf. Amsterdam Marina is located a stone’s throw from the city centre and easily reached on foot, by bike, with public transport or by car. Visitors have access to several parking areas near the event. The HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show is also extremely easy to reach by public transport: the free ferry sails from Amsterdam Central Station to the NDSM wharf (Amsterdam Marina) four times an hour in only 12 minutes. On the way, visitors will enjoy great views of classic and modern architecture along the banks of the IJ, including Film Museum Eye, the Central Station (by Cuypers, the same architect as the Rijksmuseum), the Silodam and new developments such as IJ-Dock. There is also a good bus connection to the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show from Central Station.

The HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show will take place from Tuesday 1 to Sunday 6 September 2015 in Amsterdam Marina, and is easy to reach by free ferry from Amsterdam Central Station to the NDSM wharf.
