The Hiswa te water organization takes the initiative to organize the Boat of the Year election. All water sports and water sport related companies are invited to nominate for these awards. A professional jury will judge the nominations.
Every water sports company in the Netherlands is invited to nominate for one or more categories:
Innovation Award
Criteria:
-model was only launched after 1 October last year
-boat must be available to the consumer
-innovation must not have previously been placed on the market in a different or similar form
-boats shall be taller than 2.5 metres and less than 20 metres
-Innovation must be an essential part of the concept (construction, layout, implementation, technology).
Oeuvre price
Criterion:
– Intended for a Dutch person who has for a long time in a special way made himself useful for Dutch water sports (Yacht building, product development, infrastructure, media, ports or government) and has not been praised for that before.
Start-up Award
Criteria:
-Dutch water sports company, not older than 5 years existing
– demonstrably successful with new formula – or in new target groups
-preferably with new boat model or innovative product
Local hero
Criteria:
-Dutch company
-specialized in 1 segment
-Strongly oriented towards the Dutch market
-locally known, but worthy of national interest
Public favourite
Criteria:
-favorite boat of the public, jury has no vote
-model to be launched after 1 October 2019
-produced in the Netherlands
-available on the market
-budgetally interesting, (cheaper than competition with equal quality).
