In just over two months’ time, Lelystad’s Bataviahaven will host another major acquatic sports festival. Just over a week after Sail Amsterdam, the Hiswa te Water will again make tens of thousands of water sports enthusiasts happy, this time with the finest products on the market.
Festive
The fortieth edition of Northwest Europe’s largest water sports exhibition promises to be extra festive. Director Arjen Rahusen: “Actually, the Hiswa te Water is always a party, so nautical lifestyle enthusiasts will get their money’s worth every year. This year, we have had the entrance tent redesigned so that everyone is received even more chicly. Every day, there are exhibitors who invite their business contacts for drinks or a party. There you will also find the necessary information stands. The atmosphere will be cosy and even more about enjoying boats and water sports. We will again have a pop-up restaurant and other catering. There will be demonstrations every day. And there is a trial boat jetty, where people can sail with KNRM. “
Sustainability
The Hiswa te Water is an international stage for Dutch yacht building. Visitors from all over the world come to Lelystad to admire the most beautiful yachts. Sales manager Alex Hoeve: “Right at the stairs to the harbour, you are surprised by beautiful classic boats with gleaming mahogany and stainless steel. As every year, many sloops and tenders. These are getting bigger and bigger and often have electric propulsion. Sustainability plays a big role and there are many yachts this year that respond to this. On the outboard motor pavilions, you can now also see many electric drives. A notable first is an 11-metre-long Waterspoor. Incidentally, the largest yacht at the Boatshow this time is a sailing yacht, the Nehalenia, a 28-metre Hungarian. “
Crowd-screamers
Among the sailing yachts, there are many crowd-pleasers. Hoeve: “Such as the Bestevaer 53, Tom Waes’ aluminium sailing yacht. At the other end of the sailing spectrum, there are the striking XR 41, the Shogun 43, two high-performance racers and the Hallberg Rassy 69. There are also beautiful motor yachts, such as the Steeler Explorer 26m and two 20-metre yachts from Van der Heijden and all of Wajer’s yachts (except the 77) lying together. Of course, the 12 nominated yachts for the Boat of the Year awards are in the spotlight. The Boat of the Year awards, together with the Startup and Oeuvre Awards, will be presented on the evening before the opening of the. Thus, we start Tuesday evening with a party and continue that through Sunday evening.”
